Terms of Service
1. About These Terms
These Terms govern access to and use of the Back Coach platform at backcoach.app, operated by Tom Lowes (trading as Back Coach). By creating an account you agree to these Terms.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years of age. The platform is designed for adults in workplace settings.
3. Nature of the Platform
Back Coach is a prevention platform, not a medical device, diagnostic tool, clinical service, or rehabilitation programme. Nothing on the platform constitutes medical advice or clinical recommendation. The Back Health Score is a self-reported assessment tool, not a clinical diagnosis. If you experience back pain or any health concern, seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional. If any movement causes pain, stop immediately and seek medical advice.
4. Your Account
Register with accurate information. Keep password confidential. Notify support@backcoach.app immediately of suspected unauthorised access. Do not share credentials or access any account other than your own.
5. Acceptable Use
You must not: use the platform unlawfully; attempt unauthorised access; interfere with or damage the platform; reverse engineer the software; scrape data by automated means without written consent; impersonate any person; upload harmful or infringing content; introduce malicious code.
6. Calendar Integration
Calendar connection is optional. Read-only access granted via OAuth. Disconnect at any time via Settings. Use of Google Calendar is subject to Google's Terms. Use of Microsoft Outlook Calendar is subject to Microsoft's Terms. Back Coach is not responsible for availability of third-party services.
7. Intellectual Property
All platform content, features, and functionality including the Back Health Score methodology, pathway system, Smart Break algorithm, and software are owned by Back Coach or its licensors. Limited non-exclusive non-transferable revocable licence granted for personal non-commercial use only.
8. Availability and Changes
No guarantee of uninterrupted availability. Back Coach may amend or remove features at any time with reasonable notice where practicable.
9. Limitation of Liability
Platform provided as is without warranty. Back Coach not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Total aggregate liability not to exceed the greater of amounts paid in the prior 12 months or £100. Nothing limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or fraud.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify Back Coach against claims arising from your breach of these Terms, breach of applicable law, or content you submit.
11. Third-Party Links
Links to third-party sites are for convenience only. Back Coach does not endorse and is not responsible for third-party content.
12. Termination
Back Coach may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms. You may close your account by contacting support@backcoach.app.
13. Changes to Terms
Material changes notified at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
14. Governing Law
England and Wales. Exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
15. General
Entire agreement with Privacy Policy. Severability. No waiver. No assignment without consent. Effective date: 15 May 2026.
